You can benefit from the cheapest hotel rates if you are willing to stay a little bit further away from the main tourist hot spots. The majority of the lodging establishments situated along the popular Beach and 2nd road, are expensively priced while many of their guestrooms aren’t even clean. You should bear in mind that an expensive hotel in Pattaya doesn’t always mean you’ll get a comfortable and well facilitated room. Many of the better and cheaper hotels offer more comfortable guest units.

In general the rate for one night is about 500 baht, which is a little more than 10 euro. The facilities include: daily fresh sheets, hot water, safety locker and around-the-clock security. If you are on a budget but still wish to spend the nights in a hotel than it is possible to rent a room for 250 baht ( 5 euro). For this price you will have a fan in your room instead of air-conditioning. If your budget is not an important issue than one of the glitzy Western hotels might be a good option. Here you can spend the night in a spacious guestroom with a full set of modern comforts. The price will be around 1,000 baht (21 euro) per night.

Renting an apartment is also becoming more and more popular in Pattaya. Furnished condos and apartments can best be rented monthly. The asked rent is between 10,000 (208 euro) and 16,000 baht (333 euro). Usually the rent doesn’t include the water and electricity bill, which obviously depends on how much you use. A regular user normally has to pay another 1,000/2,000 baht to cover these expenses.

Pattaya enjoys a highly pleasurable climate. Most of the days are sunny in this resort town. Rainfall normally doesn’t last longer than one hour. You’ll never experience chilly days in Pattaya as average temperatures are as high as 25-25C.

There are several well known fast-food outlets, Thai and international restaurants as well as cheap street food stalls. Not all Thai dishes are spicy and you can have a meal for as cheap as 20 baht. If Thai food isn’t your thing and prefer to only eat western food in restaurants, expect about 150 baht for an average dish. The tap water in Pattaya is not drinkable and you should only consume bottled water, which is widely available.

Some recommended activities in Pattaya include: jet skiing, go karts, clubbing, shopping, sightseeing, motorbike rides, sun bathing, dining & wining, having a massage, watching movies, meeting friends and visiting nearby facilities such as the Tiger Zoo, Chinese Museum and the Pattaya Park waterslides.
