Can you get decent Western food in Pattaya?

Pattaya is definitely one of the best visited tourist hot spots in Thailand and as many holidaymakers from the west are not really into spicy Thai food they often wonder if it is possible to get tasty international dishes such as pasta, pizza, steak or fish and chips in the seaside resort. Well, the answer is yes. You’ll be amazed by the wide range of different restaurants Pattaya has to offer. In addition, several internationally acclaimed cooks have set up their business in ‘the Thai capital of fun’.

Personally, I prefer to eat the healthy Thai food and enjoy my portion of noodles and rice with most of the other spicy culinary delights that combines very well with them. However, as a gastronomist I also now and than like to eat dishes from around the globe and Pattaya isn’t short of fine international restaurants.

Pizza and pasta addicts should head to Walking Street where they’ll find Don Joe’s eatery. The biggest and most juicy steaks are available at the Big Horn restaurant while a full and rich English breakfast is daily served at the Sportsman Club.

Tourists coming from the US will definitely appreciate the selection of dishes which are served at the New Orleans Café and the highly reputed Bob’s BBQ. These places are the best spots to eat a portion of mouth-watering barbecued spareribs.

Mexican food is a popular choice too and can be enjoyed along with a couple shots of Tequila at the Blue Parrot and Tequila Reef. Sometimes you might forget that you are in a Thai town with all these many different international eateries.

As a seaside resort Pattaya is obviously also a great place to check out the seafood. You only have to stroll along the atmospheric Walking Street or Beach Road, and you simply can’t miss some of the area’s best seafood restaurants. Probably one of Pattaya’s finest is known as King’s Seafood. This establishment offers scenic views on the Gulf while eating the tastiest tiger prawns. Wash it away with an ice-cold Thai beer!
