Settling down in Pattaya

The incredibly popular seaside resort town of Pattaya is one of Thailand’s most favoured destinations for foreigners to live. Some regard the place as a rather sleazy area, none-the-less over 12,000 expatriates have made this booming seaside resort their base in ‘the land of smiles’. The lively beach scene, a wide range of excellent tourist facilities and a laid-back party ambience contribute largely to its appeal.

Living here offers many advantages. Pattaya is only an 80-minute drive from Bangkok’s impressive new Suvarnabhumi airport. The town boasts one of Thailand’s most comprehensive tourist infrastructures. Visitors will find a wide array of restaurants, bars, travel agencies, comfortable apartments and business services along with plentiful recreational activities such as water-based sports and golfing.

However, it is a well-known fact that most of the visitors come here for the naughty nightlife scene with its many available hostesses. This gives the resort’s crowd a bit of a sexpat image, drawing mainly middle aged single males, but to stereotype Pattaya would be wrong. Residents have the possibility to ignore the seedier side and spend their time in sophisticated pubs, glitzy shopping malls and trendy residential areas, or sunbathing on the much quieter Naklua beach while planning an afternoon’s spa or golf session.  Online resource to living in Pattaya

Settling down and working in Pattaya is popular due to boasting one of the nation’s most quickly developing areas, particularly from a real estate perspective. This popular holiday destination offers a sufficient amount of available jobs for foreigners, as well as many business opportunities in the downtown area, which itself compared with many other Thai locations is much more progressive.
