Shopping places in Pattaya
Posted by Party Pete on July 19th, 2009 filed in Entertainment, Lifestyling, just visitingPattaya boasts an extensive selection of markets and shops that cater for all tastes and budgets. From extremely cheap to the incredibly expensive, you can find it all in Pattaya. While some of the goodies’ quality can vary enormously from shop to shop and stall to stall, even those visitors who normally dislike shopping will find their special bargain here.
Leaving Pattaya without some extra bags is nearly impossible, whether you are searching for locally produced handicrafts, sparking gems or one of the many fake Rolexes to impress friends back home. Bear in mind, however, you’ll get what you pay for! Don’t expect the same quality of products here than at home. Money-back guarantee almost doesn’t exist in Pattaya, so before buying check the items thoroughly and avoid purchasing the less expensive models.
Positioned on Beach Road or the parallel Second Road you’ll find the largest part of the touristy outlets, as well as on the numerous lanes in between, especially in Central and South Pattaya. Available here are bewildering displays of carving, clothing, art, souvenirs, antiques, local handicrafts and ceramics.
During daytime the famous and noisy Walking Street nightlife area, is a quiet street with several glitzy and expensive outlets that cater for the more discerning arts and antique buff. These up-market outlets are stocked with meticulously carved jade, wooden ship models, Buddha statues, quality jewellery and gold. South Pattaya’s Beach Road and Second Road boasts some outstanding tailor shops where you can order tailor-made clothing at a cheap price, which will be ready in less than one day.
