Something worth getting out of bed for

I heard something this week which excited me more than almost anything else since I moved to Pattaya. At the end of this month, something wonderful is going to take place here and I feel an obligation to share it with you all.

Apparently, it happened for the first time last year, and how I missed it, I have no idea. I was probably tucked up in bed. This, however, is no excuse when it comes to this fabulous event, as staying in bed is in fact the name of the game.

On January 31, sleepy heads of all nationalities will be taking their beds to the streets and taking part in the Pattaya International Bed Race. The balmy race, which is organised by the Club and City Hall, will begin and end on The Avenue on Second Road, with beds of all shapes and sizes hurtling down Soi 12, Beach Road and Walking Street.

I am still to find out whether me and my favourite place to be can enter this year, but if not, it will still be worth getting out of bed for.
