Planning your trip
Posted by Party Pete on October 29th, 2010 filed in just visitingPattaya, like the rest of Thailand has a tropical climate and is therefore hot all year round. Visiting Pattaya at any time of the year is therefore possible, although the rainy season from July to October may perhaps be a less desirable time to go, particularly with its incredibly humid weather. March and April are the hottest months of the year, and may be just a bit too hot to enjoy Pattaya’s beach lifestyle with frequent high temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius. The coolest part of the year is from November to February with pleasant 20 to 30 degree days, perfect for enjoying the beach and outdoor activities.
Pattaya’s peak season is during the cooler months from December to February, with its off season being the rainy season. Prices will be much higher during the peak season due to the high demand for accommodation from the large numbers of visitors who flock to enjoy the beach and pleasant weather during this time.
Whilst the rainy season may not appeal to many as the ideal time to visit Pattaya, it can actually be a good time to go for those who prefer to avoid the crowds and enjoy the lower prices. Like most tropical destinations, rain usually occurs in a short downpour rather than constant rain throughout the day. It’s therefore very possible to still enjoy your trip to Pattaya outside of the peak season.
Pattaya also enjoys a very lively Songkran festival, and visiting during the Songkran holiday in mid-April is another popular time to go to Pattaya for many Bangkokians and tourists alike. However, whenever you go, you can be sure that there will always be a lively beach and city atmosphere to enjoy in Pattaya at anytime of the day or night!
