Mini Siam
Posted by Party Pete on November 19th, 2010 filed in EntertainmentMini Siam was a project first started in 1986, and consists of constructions of miniature models of Siam (present-day Thailand) and Europe. These models are incredibly historical, and depict Thai history throughout the ages. They are designed to ensure that Thai history is remembered and continues to foster a strong sense of historical awareness and identity in younger generations in Thailand. Although they were built as a source of cultural understanding, these models at Mini Siam have become a top tourist attraction in Pattaya these days, with many busloads of visitors coming to admire the reconstructions and learn more about Thai culture and history.
Mini Siam features a number of important cultural, historical and religious sites throughout Thailand, including Wat Prakaew (the Grand Palace), Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), and Wat Maharthat from Sukhothai.
Mini Siam likewise is a stunning display of various cultural and historical monuments throughout Europe, featuring the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Tower Bridge in London.
This attraction is a great family attraction, and is particularly popular with kids. You should allow about 2 hours to really give yourself enough time to walk around and take in these marvellous models. Mini Siam has a number of restaurants, food stalls, and souvenir shops to keep you well feed and hydrated during your time there. For a truly spectacular experience, why not visit Mini Siam in the evening when all the models are all lit up.
Mini Siam is open daily from 7am to 10pm. It is very easy to reach Mini Siam, as they offer a shuttle bus to transport guests who book a tour of Mini Siam at any Pattaya travel agent.
