Posted by Party Pete on December 17th, 2010 filed in Daytripping, Entertainment, sightseeingBaan Sukhawadee is the house of Dr Panya Chotithewan and is located at 219 Moo 2 Sukhumvit Road. It was built in 2000 and is quite a large block of 11 rais. This is an absolutely amazing house full of interesting artefacts and pieces of art which show-off Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
The name Baan Sukhaewadee means House of Pureness, Happiness and Wealth. This is the motto behind the architecture and fittings of this beautiful house. The buildings are painted in blue and pink – blue to represent water as the beginning of life, and pink as the colour of love.
Baan Sukhawadee is also a fantastic place for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Pattaya’s main beaches to come and relax amongst a beautiful garden setting. The house is located adjacent to the sea and enjoys refreshing ocean breezes. The buildings of the house are surrounded by lush gardens containing a number of botanical plants which all serve to create a truly relaxing and peaceful environment for a pleasant afternoon stroll surrounded by stunning architecture and an amazing Thai natural setting.
Also inside Baan Sukhawadee are a number of significant and important religious images and statues such as the Lord Buddha at birth image.
Baan Sukhawadee is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6pm, and on weekends from 8am to 6pm. To get there, just speak to your guesthouse and they can help you organise transport to and from the house. Daily tours also go to Baan Sukhawadee and can be easily organised through a Pattaya travel agent.
