Bottle Art Museum
Posted by Party Pete on February 4th, 2011 filed in EntertainmentThe Bottle Art Museum is something just a little bit different, and perhaps not something that would spring to the top of your “to do” list whilst in the beach-side resort of Pattaya. However, this is a fascinating museum, showing off some expert craftsmanship and artistic design. The concept of the art at this museum is basically, to bottle it!
The Bottle Art Museum contains an enormous collection of over 300 pieces of artwork, all contained in glass bottles. The pieces of art include depictions of some of Thailand’s most popular and well-known tourist attractions. In addition to this are a number of unique and original artworks also in glass bottles. The work of the famous Dutch artist Peter Bedelais can be found at this museum, with a number of his well-known pieces of vessel art in bottles being displayed throughout the museum.
One of the most interesting features of the museum is the matching of bottles with the colours of the walls, creating a kaleidoscope of colours to amaze visitors as they walk through the museum. There is also a souvenir shop which sells some of these amazing pieces of art, allowing you to take home the brilliant colour and light of the Bottle Art Museum.
The Bottle Museum is located on the Sukhumvit Highway, only about 200 metres from the centre of Pattaya. The museum is open daily from 8:30am to 8pm, and admission is 250 baht for adults and 120 baht for children. This is a particularly good place to come with children.
