For those who what to be away from the busy Pattaya beaches, Phra Tamnak Hill is a location for superb views of Pattaya during the day and the panoramic views of Pattaya during the night. You can also see the Royal Thai Navy radio station which is south Pattaya beach.

The hill is also a great location for travelers who want a unique experience and can also stay as on the hill, there are at least five cheap accommodations and even the 5 star hotels at the hill are at an affordable price such at the Manita Boutique Hotel pattaya, Royal wing Suites and Spa Pattaya and so on.

The Phra Tamnak Hill also hosts a temple with an impressive huge Buddha statue at the summit and beneath, there is a great scenic park which is also an exercise haven in the late afternoon till evening.

The views of Phra Tamnak Hill are fantastic as they take in all the harbor and beach area, and the other side of Jomtein beach plus a few islands off Pattaya and this is a good place for those who fall in love with Thailand and want to stay in Thailand, in that, this area has a lot of properties for rent and sale and since it is one hour away from Bangkok, it has become an area of foreign settlers.

This is one of the amazing things in Pattaya that can not be missed because it is not just a landscape with tropical garden plants but it also blends the elements of Thai culture and family entertainment creating a fun day out for both adults and children.

Tourists, who come here, enjoy spectacular Thai performances featuring Elephant costumes, music, graceful dance movements, parades and a string of talent shows performed by a lovely troupe of Thai elephants. There is also a wide range recreational activity including elephant riding, bicycling, and boat paddling or just strolling from one botanical garden to the next ensuring great fun for every tourist who comes here.

Nong Nooch garden is alo dedicated to education, preservation and research as well as the conservation of the world’s largest palm collection and this is where you find the largest variety of orchids in Thailand and other tropical flora and fauna. Also among the many things done at Nong Nooch, is the fact that they are constantly developing and evolving creating new interests of the Thai loyal family and returning guests.

A visit to Nong Nooch Tropical garden is an experience you will never forget, so why no make plans to visit this natural reserve of nature and even if you are not in Pattaya, it is not far at all from Bangkok, it is an experience you and your family will enjoy. This can be booked through your hotel or guesthouse or from any tour operator in Bangkok or Pattaya.

Everyone travelling to Pattaya wants to stay as close to the beach as possible. Staying near the beach not only gives you convenient access to all of the great water sport activities and the prime sunbaking places on the beach, but it also means that you’re right near the great night markets, shops, restaurants and bars that line the beaches of Pattaya.

I wanted to share a little bit about a great beachfront hotel that I recently stayed in, because this place is great value, and a real find as far as quality and affordable accommodation in Pattaya goes.

The place is called Baboona Beachfront Living. It is located in the heart of Pattaya Beach Road, and you really couldn’t get any closer to the main beach area if you tried. This hotel is very relaxed and there is nothing pretentious about its services of facilities. Rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. The rooms with a sea view are just spectacular, so much so that you would be forgiven if you spent your entire time in Pattaya on your balcony admiring the view.

I really liked the fact that the hotel had everything you needed and nothing you didn’t. There was a nice little restaurant where we could get out breakfast in the morning, but there was never any pressure to eat there at other times of the day.

They even had a spa and massage service, which I have to say was very welcomed, because this is one place you can be sure that what you’re getting is a quality, and professional massage without any extras.

The price was also right, and I for one, will be sure to come back to Baboona Beachfront Living next time I am back in Pattaya.

Situated a little over an hour’s drive from the city of Bangkok, Pattaya is one of Thailand’s most developed beach resorts. Large numbers of people come here from all over the globe, attracted by the city’s cheap deals, excellent beaches, sleaze and weekend hideaways.

Most of the action in Pattaya tends to be clustered around the vibrant area known as Pattaya bay, which features a long sweep of sand and line of high-rise hotels. There are all sorts of water sports on offer here, but if you seek something quieter and more private, the adjacent beaches of Naklua bay and Jomtien beach are pleasant. Typically you can enjoy a beachside cocktail, Thai massage or simply relax in the endless sun.

Scuba diving is popular and there are many dive shops in the tourist strips offering good quality excursions to nearby reefs and islands.

By night, Pattaya isn’t short of entertainment and is well known for its sex scene. These are generally clustered in areas and recognised by the scores of single ladies prompting you to come in. However, the are many more reputable establishments in which to enjoy a quiet sunset drink, watch videos while you get drunk, or feed off the sumptuous seafood that the Gulf towns are famous for. Many discos and karaoke bars are scattered about, the one’s located in international hotels being the most reliable. Traditional Thai massage, or foot massages are highly recommended and easy to come by.

Shopping is also excellent value for money at the various day and night markets that are hard to miss in the tourist areas. Beware of fake goods, but look out for excellent-value silk and other clothing.

Next weekend’s kite flying festival is going to be a great event, mark my words. The flying of kites has been extremely popular in Thailand, and Pattaya especially, for hundreds of years. The pastime has been attributed to a Chinese inventor in around 300BC who kept a wooden bird he built in the air for three consequtive days.

These days, however, the process of building and flying kites has taken a much more scientific vein with engineers joining the fray to build some of the largest and most impressive offerings around. Kites that resemble new-born babies, houses and even creatures from the deep will be on show in Pattaya next week.

The international kite festival takes place from Saturday, March 13, to Sunday, March 14, March 2010 at 10.00 until 21.00 at the Mrigadayavan Palace, Naresuan Camp, Amphoe Cha-am, Phetchaburi. Families are very welcome and it will be a fantastic outing for kids and adults alike.

It was great to see that the ‘Burapha Bikers Week’ was an even bigger success in Pattaya this year than it was in 2009.

The now annual event attracted petrol heads from all over Thailand and the world, and plenty of rubber has been burnt on the streets of Pattaya over the last few days.

Festivities started with the bikers’ parade around the city before a good, old-fashioned knees-up at the Hardrock Hotel.

The after-party was held at the stadium in Soi Chaiyapruek, and although many did, I’m not sure anyone was in a fit state to ride home afterwards.

Continuous shows and drinks flowed throughout the night and the festival atmosphere was helped along by the vast amounts of visitors choosing to camp out around the stadium for the night.

I’ve never ridden more than the most modest scooters myself, but I must admit that even I feel a surge of adrenaline when I hear those big motors roaring.

But while I will always be a little envious of the guys and gals who ride these monsters with such style, I just don’t think I could handle the leathers in this heat!

The Keep Pattaya Clean initiative has been launched at the City Hall on Thursday by deputy mayor Khun Weerawat Khakhai. The scheme will be introduced to maintain the clean beaches, roads and avenues of the town plus to honour His Majesty the King.

More than 1,000 people from across the various departments of civic associations helped present the project that includes private companies’ participation, a centre for the training of new recruits plus employees and officials of Pattaya City Hall.

As one of the foremost tourist destinations in the world, it is commonly accepted that keeping Pattaya clean is an important task. This will enable it to build on its already fine reputation, create a good image for visitors and enhance the local economy further.

The resort island of Phuket has also initiated a similar scheme with marked success, with visitors over the peak Christmas period commenting that even popular beaches such as Patong and Kata have been free from debris and waste.

People have been alarmed by a thick fog which has descended on Pattaya which was thought to be caused by a toxic substance. Fingers were pointed at the Laem Chabang and Map Ta Phut and industrial estates but after tests were conducted by meteorologists but there was nothing that suggested such a link.

Deputy Mayor Wirawat Khakhai told reporters that the scientist’s “weather mobile” determined that the fog was formed by cold area from northern Thailand that blew over the area and then converged with humid warmer currents from the Kingdom’s south. As the fog was a few degrees cooler then the air it was moving into it became a good deal denser than usually appears in the region during this time of the year.

Alarm has been raised about the quality of air around Pattaya for some time with readings of 280 microns/sqm of dust particles being recorded during particularly dry spells. Any reading more than 120 is considered unhealthy for breathing. Air pollution has been linked to a number of respiratory illnesses and conditions.

Twenty-four hour postal services have just been introduced at a popular hotel.

The Diana Inn Hotel, based on the Second Road in Pattaya, has introduced a post office desk directly at the reception in the hotel lobby.

Hotel staff have received fully training by the Banglamung Post Office to be able to deal with most everyday functions. Although it is mainly guests that are being targeted by the new facility, customers from outside will also be able to take advantage.

Already at the lobby is a bar, travel agency and coffee shop, and although banking services are not yet offered, there is every chance they will be in the future.

Although this is not a unique concept in the worldwide hospitality industry, it is certainly the first of its kind in Pattaya. The hotel has a Green Bottle Pub and Restaurant right next door complete with big screen TV for sport and beer garden.
